A Study on Family Support Service for Senior Citizens in Adult Day Care Center : Focusing on Busan Metropolitan city
Yun Eun-Gyeong

Abstract
This study examined how the family support service provided for the family by adult day care centers was implemented and whether the service delivered benefits, in an effort to ease the burden in taking care of senior citizens. The subjects of this study were limited to adult day care centers and families of senior citizens using those centers in Busan Metropolitan City. As a result, even for those centers that provided the family support service, frequency was lower and programs were not diverse. More seriously, there were centers that did not offer family support service at all. In terms of the types of family support service currently implemented, most of them were family counseling service and family information support service, and family education service was found helpful in a practical way. As far as the type of users were concerned, families living together with a senior citizen were found much more likely to use the service than their counterparts, and more families participated in the family support service, as they used the center for a shorter period of time.
